BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Falih al-Zeydi met Thursday with a delegation from the Private Generator Owners Syndicate in the presence of the Minister of Electricity to review the operations of private power generators. The syndicate delegation outlined the working mechanisms, operating hours and tariff structure of private generators, with both sides also discussing the allocation of fuel quotas needed to keep the units running without interruption.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Press Office, al-Zeydi stressed the role private generators play in supporting the national electricity grid during peak hours and periods of high temperatures, when demand for power typically rises. He noted that these generators help meet household needs at a time when the state grid is under strain.
The prime minister directed the relevant authorities to provide necessary support to generator owners and to streamline procedures for securing fuel supplies. The instructions are aimed at ensuring stable operating hours through the summer months and uninterrupted service delivery to subscribers.
No further details on the timeline of the measures were immediately available.
