BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraqi Paralympic table tennis player Nijla Imad has won a gold medal at an international Paralympic table tennis championship in Finland, according to the head of the Iraqi Paralympic Table Tennis Federation delegation, Naseem al-Shammari.
Al-Shammari said the result was the outcome of intensive work by coach Haidar Selim and the federation's technical and administrative planning. He added that optimal conditions had been prepared for Imad and that the preparation had been rewarded with the gold medal.
The federation noted that the victory demonstrated Imad's continuing capacity to deliver strong performances at the international level. Al-Shammari praised the technical and administrative team's efforts and said the result would serve as motivation for upcoming tournaments.
With the gold, Imad extended Iraq's record of success in Paralympic sport.
