Baghdad security forces arrest drug dealer with 14,000 Captagon pills

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraqi military intelligence said security forces arrested a drug dealer in possession of 14,000 Captagon pills during an operation in the capital, Baghdad. The Intelligence and Security Unit of the Sixth Infantry Division apprehended the suspect in a neighborhood of the city after sustained surveillance and tracking work, the directorate said in a statement. The suspect had an outstanding arrest warrant and will be prosecuted under Article 28 of Iraq's counter-narcotics law, according to the statement. The seized pills were confiscated along with the suspect, who was handed over to the relevant authorities to complete legal proceedings. Military intelligence units said their counter-narcotics operations in Baghdad are being carried out in coordination with broader tracking activities across the capital.
