Iraqi lawmakers seek public trials for corruption convicts, MP says

He said bringing all institutions within the campaign's scope reflects the full backing of public representatives. The lawmaker added that public trials are intended to build public trust in the legislative, judicial and executive branches, since the cases involve state resources. He also noted that some groups have questioned the corruption campaign on social media and that public anger persists, underscoring continued public attention to the issue.
