BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraqi parliament member Alaa al-Haidiri has formally submitted a file to Prime Minister Ali Zeydi alleging irregularities and public financial losses at an unnamed oil company, his office said. Haidiri described the structure he identified inside the company as a "new oil whale," claiming it has caused major violations and significant losses of public resources.
Haidiri said the same file had previously been presented to the government of former Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani but produced no action or enforcement decision. He is calling for a full investigation into all aspects of the case and for strict legal proceedings against anyone found responsible.
In his statement, Haidiri stressed that protecting public assets and combating corruption requires no concessions toward individuals or institutions found to have played a role in the alleged violations. He urged that the matter be pursued with transparency so the public is properly informed of the outcome. No immediate response from the prime minister's office was reported.
