BAGHDAD, Iraq โ The Iraqi Artists Syndicate announced the death of veteran actor Sabri al-Remahi and issued a condolence message to his family, friends and colleagues. The syndicate said the artist died on Tuesday.
Born in Baghdad on July 1, 1948, al-Remahi graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts. He began his career in 1970 as a director in the dramatic productions department of the Voice of the People radio station.
Over the course of his career, al-Remahi worked on a series of television productions, including Al-Bahisun, Jarf al-Milh, Qanadel al-Dannisawi, Al-Baytouna, Al-Hutay'a, Ashir al-Mughannun al-Arab, and Sukut Ghirnata, among others. His death prompted an outpouring of grief from Iraq's cultural and artistic circles.
