Iraqi army targets ISIS tunnel in Anbar desert, seizes weapons and supplies

BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Military Intelligence Directorate said its forces conducted an operation against an ISIS tunnel in the Anbar desert, seizing weapons, ammunition, food and medical supplies inside the structure. The operation was carried out under the direction of Director of Military Intelligence Lieutenant General Hassan Jawad al-Silewai, based on intelligence pointing to areas where remaining ISIS elements were hiding and to the group's financing sources, the directorate said.
Personnel from the 7th Infantry Division's Intelligence and Security Unit carried out the raid. The seized materiel was processed in line with legal procedures, according to the statement.
Items recovered included one 14.5 mm heavy machine gun, one RPG-7 rocket launcher, one 60 mm mortar with a base plate, eight 14.5 mm ammunition boxes, three anti-tank RPG-7 rockets, four RPG-7 rocket charges, 250 rounds of 12.7 mm ammunition, 100 BKC cartridges, assorted medicines and medical supplies, and two mobile phones, the directorate said.
