BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Foreign Ministry said it welcomed an agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian government to integrate the group into Syrian state institutions. In a written statement, the ministry said talks between SDF commanders and the Syrian administration had produced positive results and that the integration decision would unify the country's armed forces under a single framework.
The ministry described the step as progress toward reinforcing Syria's stability and territorial integrity, adding that it would help consolidate state sovereignty, expand participation in governance and meet the Syrian people's demands for security and stability. Baghdad reiterated its support for all efforts aimed at preserving Syria's unity, sovereignty and stability.
The statement also called on Syrian state institutions to establish an inclusive framework that represents all segments of society across the country. No further details on the timing or implementation of the integration agreement were provided in the ministry's announcement.
