BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Ministry of Transportation said the country's airspace will be reopened to international transit flights within 24 hours, following high-level technical talks supervised directly by the transport minister. The decision came after technical assessments of airspace security were completed, according to a ministry statement.
Officials said the move would restore the normal flow of international flights transiting the region. The ministry added that the process was carried out in coordination with all relevant parties and that necessary technical communications were maintained throughout.
The ministry said further details on the reopening would be released in the coming hours. It did not specify which airlines or routes would be affected or whether restrictions on overflights by certain carriers remain in place.
