BAGHDAD, Iraq โ The Iraq Stock Exchange reported that the total value of shares traded last week exceeded 3 billion dinars, according to a report published Monday. Across the week, 57 listed companies saw their shares change hands, while trading was suspended for 28 companies due to unmatched buy and sell orders and for 18 companies because required disclosures had not been filed. The exchange has 103 listed companies in total.
Trading volumes fell 4 percent from the previous week to 2.758 billion shares, while the number of transactions dropped 23 percent to 3,912, with a combined value of 3.126 billion dinars. The ISX60 index closed the week at 1,015.00 points, down 0.25 percent from the previous session.
Foreign investors were net sellers during the week, purchasing 13 million shares worth 31 million dinars in 33 trades and selling 16 million shares worth 262 million dinars in 196 trades. The exchange holds five trading sessions per week, with listed companies operating in banking, telecommunications, industry, agriculture, insurance, financial investment, tourism and hospitality, and services.
