BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” The Iraqi Cycling Federation will hold its first coach classification course from Sept. 6 to 10 at the University of Baghdad's Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, federation president Ali Hamid said. The course will be conducted under the supervision of Iranian coach Omid Seraci. Hamid said the program is part of a plan to improve coaches' technical and administrative skills, adding that no prior classification system existed for cycling coaches in Iraq. He said the classification mechanism was prepared by the Technical Committee and approved by the Executive Board at its latest meeting. The new system is aligned with the Sports Federations Law and the federation's internal regulations and requires classification for coaches, referees and athletes, Hamid said. He added that the results of the course will serve as the basis for selecting coaches for the national team, clubs and sports academies. Hamid said coaches without the required classification certificate will not be allowed to work in those roles. Similar classification courses will be held annually to continue developing coaches' technical and administrative standards, he added.
