BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Oil Products Distribution Company has launched distribution of the September fuel quota for private generators nationwide, allocating 35 liters of gas per KVA at the subsidized price. Basra was exempted from the standard rate and given a separate quota of 10 liters per KVA.
Company sources said distribution began in Baghdad and will reach other cities in stages, starting with the Karkh side of the capital. The fuel is being transported in coordination between the company's branches, offices and fuel stations, in line with direct directives issued by the Prime Minister's Office.
Operating hours for private generators will continue to be set by local administrations and provincial councils, the company said. The announcement of the quota came after outages in several areas and led generator owners to suspend an ongoing strike.
