BAGHDAD, Iraq โ The head of Dhi Qar's provincial council, Izzet Avde al-Nashi, called on Tuesday for the newly appointed governor to focus on delivering improved services and administrative performance across the province.
Al-Nashi said the council had fulfilled its constitutional and legal duty in selecting the governor and that responsibility now falls on the executive branch. He urged the incoming governor to work toward meeting residents' needs and raising service standards throughout Dhi Qar.
The council chair also stressed the importance of coordination between local institutions in the coming period to improve public service delivery. Al-Nashi reiterated the council's role in the selection process and asked the new administration to take the necessary administrative steps once it takes office.
