Iraq sets minimum scores, exam dates for Excellence Schools and Baghdad College admissions

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Ministry of Education has opened the electronic application window for the Excellence Schools and Baghdad College high school programs for the 2026–2027 academic year. Following the minister's approval, applications will be accepted from July 9 to July 31, 2026. The ministry set minimum grade-point requirements for applicants, requiring at least 582 points for Muslim students and at least 485 points for non-Muslim students. Candidates will sit a two-stage exam on Sunday, August 9, 2026, starting at 8:00 a.m., to be held at the schools selected during the electronic application process. The exam will include an aptitude test alongside level assessments in Arabic, English, mathematics and science, the ministry said. It urged students and parents to follow the official application guide and adhere to the published schedule.
