BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” The Iraqi Athletics Federation has sent discus thrower Mustafa Kazim Dager to Germany to continue a training camp in preparation for the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, in coordination with the Iraqi National Olympic Committee. Federation Executive Director Zaydun Jawad said Dager returned to Baghdad about a week ago after his German visa expired and has since resumed training. Jawad said Dager's result improved from 57 meters to 60 meters during his previous stay in Germany, prompting the federation to send him back to complete the training program. The federation also announced that sprinter Falah Hasan Hadi has been added to the Nagoya squad based on his performances at the Arab and Asian championships. Hadi won gold medals in the 100m and 200m at the Arab Championships in Ismailia, Egypt, and took silver in the 100m at the Asian Championships in Ordos, China. Jawad said the young sprinter is capable of competing for a medal at the Asian Games. Jawad noted that National Olympic Committee President Aqeel Muften has contributed to meeting the athletes' training and preparation needs.
