BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Ministry of Transport announced that ground equipment for the second phase of the Nasiriyah International Airport project in Dhi Qar province has arrived at the site. Airport director Ali Garib said the new equipment is part of efforts to outfit the facility with operational vehicles needed to serve aircraft and passengers.
Garib said the equipment is among the essential requirements for providing technical and ground-handling services once construction of the airport is completed. The ministry statement said the delivered items would strengthen operational preparedness and support ground-services at standards expected of an international airport.
The ministry added that the supply of equipment and vehicles will continue in planned stages ahead of the airport's commissioning. No further details on the timeline or remaining phases were immediately available.
