Iraq's Sewerage Directorate says 21 pump stations under construction in Diwaniyah

BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's General Directorate of Sewerage is building 21 pump stations in Diwaniyah province, including 16 stormwater and five wastewater facilities, the agency's director, Imad Tawfiq al-Mirza, said. He described the project as strategic and vital for the city, saying it would reduce stormwater accumulation, improve sewer network efficiency and protect public health and the environment.
Al-Mirza stressed that the work must be completed on schedule and in line with approved technical specifications. He said all available resources would be mobilized to deliver sustainable infrastructure for residents of Diwaniyah.
The directorate said the project aims to raise service quality across the province. No completion date was provided in the announcement.
