BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's National Security Advisory said on Tuesday that special operations units arrested 231 suspects across the country during July, including 30 detained on terrorism-related charges, 62 on drug trafficking and distribution charges, and 139 on blackmail and threats charges.
The advisory said the arrests were carried out by special teams as part of coordinated operations targeting multiple case files in various cities. It added that suspects sought in connection with those cases are still being tracked.
The agency said operations aimed at strengthening security and stability nationwide would continue without interruption. No further details on the specific locations or identities of those detained were immediately available.
