Iraq's Islamic Resistance rejects Saudi claim linking it to drone attack

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Islamic Resistance rejected Saudi Arabia's statement linking the group to a drone launch from Iraqi territory, calling the accusation "not reflective of reality" and evidence of "hostility." In a written statement, the group accused Riyadh of trying to cover up its own failures in Yemen by blaming Iraq for attacks on oil facilities. The statement warned that "any foolish Saudi action will be met with a harsh response" and demanded that Riyadh lift what it described as an unjust blockade of the Yemeni people. The group's denial comes amid heightened regional tensions over repeated strikes on Saudi energy infrastructure. Saudi Arabia's Defense Ministry said Monday it had intercepted several drones that took off from Iraqi territory. Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Ziyadi said he had ordered an investigation into the incident.
