BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Interior Ministry will open applications Wednesday for the 73rd intake at the First Police Academy in Baghdad and the Second Police Academy in Basra, the ministry's Volunteer Directorate announced. The electronic application form will be available on the ministry's official website starting Aug. 13, 2026.
The ministry said high school graduates from science, literature, arts and commerce tracks are eligible to apply. Candidates must prepare the required official documents and submit them in full according to rules and conditions to be published later in the process.
Applicants can select only one of the two academies; simultaneous applications to both schools will not be accepted. The ministry warned that any errors or omissions in the electronic form could affect the application and urged candidates to ensure all information is entered accurately.
The ministry said the full application calendar and conditions will be released through its official channels shortly. No further details on the intake schedule or selection procedures were immediately available.
