Iraq's Finance Ministry launches funding for July salaries in Kurdistan Region

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's federal Ministry of Finance has initiated the process to fund July salaries for public employees and pension recipients in the Kurdistan Region. The ministry issued eight separate official circulars to manage the disbursement and distribution of last month's salary payments in the region. The funds were scheduled to be deposited on Tuesday into the Kurdistan Regional Government's Ministry of Finance and Economy's bank account at the Central Bank of Iraq's Erbil branch. Once transferred, the relevant regional bodies were expected to begin the salary distribution timetable without delay. The ministry said the payments would be delivered to beneficiaries without delay by the relevant authorities. The step comes as Baghdad and Erbil continue their arrangements to ensure regular payment of civil servant and pension salaries in the Kurdistan Region.
