Iraq postpones third-intermediate French exam to Wednesday

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Ministry of Education has postponed a French-language exam for third-intermediate students to Wednesday, June 17, after the originally scheduled Tuesday was declared an official public holiday. Ministry spokesman Karim al-Sayyid said in a written statement that the rescheduling applies only to third-intermediate students across the country. The ministry said the decision was prompted by the Tuesday public holiday and that the change affects only that grade level, with other exams proceeding as planned under this year's national education calendar. Students and parents will be notified of the updated schedule through the ministry's official channels. The ministry added that a revised exam timetable will be released following the postponement. The Tuesday holiday was set under a provision of the 2024 Official Holidays Law issued by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.
