BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” Iraq's Ministry of Interior has opened applications for the 73rd class of the First Police College in Baghdad, with admissions limited to male candidates, the ministry said. The application window runs from August 13 to 19, 2026, and is open to graduates of the first semester of the 2025-2026 academic year. Applicants must be Iraqi by birth, hold no foreign origins, and possess a secondary school diploma in one of four tracks: science, literature, industrial, or commercial studies. Quotas have been set at 95 percent for science and literature graduates, and 5 percent for industrial and commercial graduates. Candidates must be between 17 and 22 years old, with the upper age limit raised to 25 for members of the internal security forces. Physical requirements include a minimum height of 168 centimeters and a minimum chest measurement of 80 centimeters, along with successful completion of fitness, medical and interview stages. Minimum diploma grades have been set at 70 percent for science and literature graduates and 80 percent for industrial and commercial graduates, according to the ministry announcement.
