BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Ministry of Construction and Housing will begin accepting electronic applications on Sunday for 10,000 housing loans distributed across the country's provinces, ministry spokesperson Istibraq Sabah said. The application window will run for four days starting August 23.
The loans will be allocated by province based on population and poverty rates. Applications for each province will open at 10:00 local time on a designated day and will be accepted on a first-come, electronic-priority basis until the quota is filled, Sabah said.
Applicants must complete an electronic form and upload the front pages of their national ID, building permit and property title. Applications will be rejected if mismatches are found in the submitted information. Eligible applicants must be aged 18 to 65, own a plot of at least 100 square meters and a structure of no less than 65 square meters.
Two loan options will be offered: a 60 million dinar interest-free loan and a 60 million dinar loan with a 2 percent declining interest rate, both with repayment terms of up to 15 years. Applications will be processed through the Housing Fund's ihf.moch.gov.iq portal.
