Routine Security Deployment Behind Heightened Baghdad Presence

BAGHDAD, Iraq — A security source said the increased security presence across Baghdad is part of routine operations conducted by federal police units and forces under the Baghdad Operations Command. The deployment is carried out daily in busy areas of the capital. The source said the measures are intended to strengthen security and stability, raise preparedness and expand preventive patrol capacity. The visible concentration of personnel is a precautionary step designed to improve security forces’ presence in the field. Monitoring has also been tightened to enable a rapid response to any indication requiring a higher state of alert. Military preparedness has been increased across the city to prevent possible violations and maintain public order.
