Iraqโs Interior Ministry is continuing nationwide efforts to track and control the toxic datura plant in coordination with the Agriculture Ministry and other relevant institutions. The ministry said work is under way to identify the plant and dispose of it in line with professional procedures.
Reports related to the toxic plant are being received through the central 911 call line, which authorities are using to coordinate responses. The ministry said the system is intended to help speed up reporting and field action across the country.
Anti-narcotics directorates are also supporting the nationwide effort, the ministry said. Their involvement forms part of the broader campaign to monitor the plant and manage the risks associated with it.
The Interior Ministry did not provide further details on the scale of the campaign or on specific areas where datura has been found.
