Iraq arrests three women and one man linked to ISIS in Anbar operation

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Interior Ministry said security forces arrested three women and one man with ties to ISIS during a search operation in the Hidaya neighborhood of Rawi district in Anbar province. The ministry said the operation was carried out jointly by a force attached to the Anbar city police command and elements of the Iraqi army. A man found in possession of an ISIS identification document was taken into custody, while the three women had returned from the Judea camp in northern Iraq, according to the statement. All four suspects were detained under Article 4 of the Counter-Terrorism Law by judicial order and referred to investigative units. The search yielded a 9mm pistol, pistol magazines and assorted ammunition, along with 45.47 million Iraqi dinars and $800 in cash. Authorities also seized 51 mobile phones, 45 SIM cards, 156 pistol cartridges, 11 M4 rifle cartridges, two empty BKC magazines and their box, 102 CDs and various electronic equipment. The seized items have been confiscated and the suspects transferred to the relevant authorities for legal proceedings, the ministry said.
