BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Counter-Terrorism Service said on Tuesday that coordinated security operations across several provinces led to the arrest of three ISIS members and a drug trafficker. The operations were carried out based on intelligence and in coordination with relevant security agencies, the service said in a written statement.
In two separate operations conducted with the Sulaymaniyah Counter-Terrorism Directorate, two ISIS members were captured in Sulaymaniyah and Salahuddin. A third ISIS member was detained in a separate operation in Anbar province, according to the statement.
Separately, a drug trafficker was arrested in Muthanna in coordination with the Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances and the Muthanna Police Command. The suspect was referred to the relevant authorities after legal procedures were completed.
