Iraq announces 2026-2027 Stars League schedule

BAGHDAD, Iraq — The Iraqi Football Federation unveiled the fixture list for the 2026-2027 Iraq Stars League season at a ceremony in Baghdad on Thursday evening. The event was attended by federation officials, club representatives and Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Mohammed Nouri. The new season will begin on the 14th of this month. In the opening week, Noruz will host Air Force, Zawra will face Al-Minaa at Zawra's home ground, and Police will welcome Karbala. Talaba will travel to Diyala, while Gawran hosts Zakho. Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya will meet Erbil at Zawra's stadium in another opening-week fixture. Duhok will host Al-Gharraf, Karma and Mosul will play at Gawran's ground, and Naft will visit Karkh. The opening round will close with a match between North Gas and Naft Maysan. During the ceremony, the federation also introduced awards for the best player, young player, goalkeeper, coach, fan, referee and fair-play team of the season. Air Force finished last season as champions with 89 points, followed by Police on 82 points and Erbil on 79.
