BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” Iraq's Foreign Ministry said the third session of the Iraq-Libya Joint Committee concluded in Baghdad, with several memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries. The talks were chaired on Iraq's behalf by Foreign Minister and acting Minister of Construction, Housing and Municipalities Fuad Hussein, and on Libya's behalf by Acting Foreign Minister Taher Al-Bagour. The agreements addressed Iraq's real estate file in Tripoli, the strengthening and expansion of economic cooperation, and joint work in the youth and sports sectors, the ministry said. Hussein pointed to the fraternal ties and shared interests between the two countries, reiterating Iraq's commitment to Libya's unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also stressed Iraq's opposition to foreign interference in Libya's internal affairs and said outstanding issues should be resolved through dialogue. Al-Bagour emphasized the historical bonds between Iraq and Libya, adding that the work of the joint committee would make a concrete contribution to strengthening bilateral relations.
