Iran warns US against any attack on its nuclear facilities

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters has warned the United States that any attack on its nuclear and sensitive facilities would lead to a broader conflict in the region. In a written statement, the command said the Iranian armed forces would respond with a powerful strike against all US interests, as well as the facilities of its allies and supporters. The warning followed remarks by US President Donald Trump during a meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at the White House. Trump claimed Iran was attempting to build a new nuclear facility and said the United States would "absolutely strike" it. He added that the facility would also be targeted, referring to Western reports that Iran had moved thousands of centrifuges to an underground site in the Bikuaks mountains. The Khatam al-Anbiya command stressed that any US military action in that direction would amount to an expansion of war in the region.
