Tehran said it will activate new air defense systems to build a more effective defense against aerial attacks, as the country moves to strengthen its military readiness amid continued regional tensions. The announcement underscores Iran’s effort to upgrade its deterrence posture after recent fighting.
Air Defense Commander Ali Abdullahi said all military capabilities are being protected and that work to develop military equipment is continuing in line with the requirements of the age. He said Iran’s air defenses performed much better in the latest clashes than in the past.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bakayi said Iran is currently focused not on the nuclear file but on ending the war and finding the best solutions to protect national interests. He said Tehran determines the timing of its response to its enemies on its own.
Bakayi also said Washington’s commitments cannot be trusted, underlining Iran’s continued skepticism toward the United States as diplomatic tensions remain high.
