Iran’s World Cup squad is scheduled to arrive in Mexico early Sunday after leaving Antalya on Saturday at 3:20 p.m. for Tijuana, according to the team’s travel plan. The squad is expected to land in Mexico at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.
The Iran national team has been training in Antalya since May 18 while waiting for U.S. visas. The 2026 World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19 in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Iran is in Group G and is set to play New Zealand and Belgium in Los Angeles on June 15 and June 21, respectively. It will face Egypt in Seattle on June 26.
Iran Football Federation president Mehdi Taj said players are expected to receive their Mexico visas on Tuesday or Wednesday, after which U.S. visas are also expected to be issued quickly.
