TEHRAN, Iran โ Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said in an interview with state television that communicating with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is "extremely difficult." Pezeshkian had said on July 21 that the "level of interaction" with Khamenei had been increasing day by day.
Mojtaba Khamenei did not attend his father's funeral ceremony, has not appeared in any video recordings, and has not made public appearances since assuming the role. Activities attributed to the Supreme Leader have been limited to written statements published in official media.
No further details were immediately available about the nature of the communication challenges described by Pezeshkian or the circumstances surrounding the Supreme Leader's limited public activity.
