Iran's Pezeshkian meets Khamenei to discuss economic and military issues

TEHRAN, Iran โ Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to discuss the country's economy and military affairs, state-linked media reported on Wednesday.
According to reports citing Khamenei's office, the two figures covered the current state of the war, upcoming plans, military developments, securing resources, foreign currency management and energy during the meeting. Iran's economic cooperation with foreign parties was also reviewed in detail.
The meeting came as Pezeshkian began the third year of his presidency. The announcement followed press reports that Pezeshkian had been taken to a secret location in a vehicle with tinted windows.
Pezeshkian had previously confirmed a roughly two-and-a-half-hour meeting with Khamenei on May 7, 2026.
