Iran's Pezeshkian arrives in Najaf for official visit, meets Iraqi PM

NAJAF, Iraq — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Fallah al-Zaydi arrived at Najaf International Airport on Tuesday, where they were received at an official welcoming ceremony attended by senior officials from both countries, according to Iran's consul in Karbala. The consul said the reception followed a previously arranged schedule and adhered to the joint protocol established between Iranian and Iraqi authorities. Preparations were carried out in line with the program agreed earlier by the two sides, the consul added. Pezeshkian's arrival in Najaf comes as part of high-level contacts between Iran and Iraq. The reception of the Iranian president and the Iraqi prime minister at the airport was recorded as part of the official bilateral visit schedule between the two neighboring countries.
