Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization has reopened Tabriz International Airport after war damage forced a complete halt in flight operations and disrupted air traffic across northwest Iran. The airport, one of the country’s busiest passenger hubs, was restored by Iranian specialists and is set to resume service on Wednesday, 27 May. A spokesman for the Civil Aviation Organization said the reopening follows repair work carried out by Iranian experts. The airport had suffered heavy damage in attacks by the United States and Israel, leaving all flight traffic suspended. Tabriz International Airport is Iran’s third-busiest airport by passenger volume and operates flights to nine overseas destinations. Its return to service is expected to restore a key transport link for the northwest region. The attacks had significantly affected air transportation in Iran’s northwest, where the airport serves as an important regional hub. The reopening marks a step toward normalizing civil aviation operations in the area.
