TEHRAN, Iran โ€” Iran will not accept a temporary ceasefire unless its demands on the Strait of Hormuz are met, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said. "Whenever Washington has tried it against our country, it has received a determined response from us, but it continues to maintain the same posture," Araghchi said, according to Iranian media. Araghchi said the current dispute between Tehran and Washington is not due to a lack of mediators, noting that Pakistan and Qatar are continuing to broker in the case. He argued that the underlying issue lies in U.S. policy and that this approach must change. The foreign minister reiterated that Iran has set the fulfillment of its demands on the Strait of Hormuz as a precondition. No further details were immediately available.
