DUBAI, United Arab Emirates โ A member of Iran's parliamentary National Security and Foreign Policy Commission said U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should expect retaliation, warning that no location, including the White House, would be safe. Alaeddin Burucerdi told the parliament-affiliated Hanne Mellat news agency that retribution for Iran's late leader Ali Khamenei and other "martyrs" would not be confined by geographic borders.
Burucerdi described Trump, Netanyahu and their "executors" as criminal actors violating agreements, and said the response had moved beyond a limited reaction into a broad movement adopted worldwide.
His comments echo remarks by Mojtaba Khamenei, a son of the late Iranian leader, who said in a statement issued around a funeral ceremony on Thursday that free individuals around the world would soon take part in avenging the killings. Iranian officials have not publicly detailed the form any retaliation would take.
