International Delegation in Baghdad to Oversee Iraq Football Federation Vote

An international delegation from the global and Asian football federations arrived in Baghdad to oversee the Iraq Football Federation elections scheduled for tomorrow. The vote will determine the federation president, two vice presidents and new board members for a four-year term. The delegation’s role is to monitor and follow the election process, then submit a comprehensive report to the two federations after the results are announced. Its presence underscores the formal oversight attached to the federation’s leadership transition. The Iraq Football Federation said 28 official candidates have applied for board membership. Three names will compete for the presidency, while four candidates have formally entered the race for first vice president.
