Grenade attack on Iraqi Industry Ministry-linked company in Baghdad wounds two

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Two people were wounded on Tuesday when unidentified attackers threw a grenade at a company linked to Iraq's Ministry of Industry in the Ghazaliya district of western Baghdad. Security sources said two individuals entered the premises of Al-Farouk Pipe Casting Company, which operates under the ministry, and detonated a grenade. The blast injured a civilian, while the force and shock wave also wounded a private security guard assigned to the company, leaving him with a ruptured eardrum. Company security personnel opened fire but the assailants fled the scene before they could be apprehended, according to the sources. Iraqi security forces have launched an investigation and are working to identify those responsible. No further details were immediately available.
