BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Gold prices climbed in Iraq's capital Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region capital Erbil on Tuesday, according to local market data. On Baghdad's Nehr al-Saraj wholesale gold market, the selling price of 21-carat Gulf, Turkish and European gold reached 943,000 Iraqi dinars per miskal, up from 935,000 dinars on Monday, with a buying price of 939,000 dinars.
Local Iraqi 21-carat gold was sold at 913,000 dinars per miskal, with a buying price of 909,000 dinars. At jewelry shops, 21-carat Gulf gold traded between 945,000 and 955,000 dinars per miskal, while local Iraqi gold ranged from 915,000 to 925,000 dinars.
In Erbil, 22-carat gold was sold at 995,000 dinars per miskal, 21-carat gold at 950,000 dinars and 18-carat gold at 814,000 dinars. Gold merchants said prices are calculated based on the global ounce price and the local dollar exchange rate.
