KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait — Five Iraqi cities ranked among the 15 highest temperature readings recorded worldwide in the past 24 hours, according to global meteorological observation data. Iran's Abadan topped the list at 47.8°C, followed by Ahvaz at 47.4°C, Bostaneh and Kuwait International Airport at 47°C, and Iran's Dehloran at 46.9°C.
Iraq's Samawa placed sixth at 46.8°C, while Najaf Airport registered 46.6°C at ninth. Kut, Diwaniyah and Khanaqin also appeared on the list, with readings between 46.4°C and 46.6°C. The top 15 positions were shared by 6 stations in Iran, 5 in Iraq, 2 in Algeria, and 1 each in Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
