Dutch earthquake researcher Frank Hoogerbeets has issued a new alert based on planetary alignments in the solar system. In a post on his social media account, Hoogerbeets said the solar system would pass through a period of intense astronomical alignments in the coming days, pointing to a close approach between the planets and the Moon as well as the alignment of Mercury, Earth and the Sun as a critical phase. The statement included the phrase that "many events will occur in the solar system in the next few days," accompanied by a graphic showing the planets' distances from the Sun. Hoogerbeets heads the Solar System Geometry Survey, an organization that investigates the relationship between geometric configurations of celestial bodies and seismic activity on Earth. Hoogerbeets became widely known after the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey on February 6, 2023, when he claimed to have predicted the tremor three days in advance. He continues to share earthquake forecasts on his social media accounts. Many scientists reject the approach linking planetary movements to earthquakes, saying it lacks a scientific basis.
