BAGHDAD, Iraq โ The U.S. dollar held steady on Monday at the central Baghdad stock exchanges of Kifach and Harisiye, trading at 154,000 Iraqi dinar per $100, unchanged from the morning close, according to local market data. At city exchange shops, the selling price stood at 154,500 dinar and the buying price at 153,500 dinar.
In Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, the dollar moved in the opposite direction during the session, with prices quoted at 154,000 dinar for sale and 153,900 dinar for purchase per $100.
Market participants noted that the two cities moved in opposite directions at Monday's closing session, with prices unchanged at Baghdad's main exchanges while Erbil's rates rose. No further details on the drivers of the Erbil move were immediately available.
