BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” The U.S. dollar ended Wednesday's trading session lower against the Iraqi dinar in both the Baghdad and Erbil foreign exchange markets. At local exchange bureaus and in the interbank market, dollar buying and selling prices retreated from the previous session's levels. In the Baghdad-centered market, the dollar's selling price was recorded at around 1,310โ€“1,315 Iraqi dinar per $100, while the buying price stood at approximately 1,300โ€“1,305 dinar. Trading in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, closed at slightly lower prices than in Baghdad. Market officials said that supply meeting demand during the day, along with regulatory steps on bank transfers, helped stabilize the exchange rate. With the dollar's decline, currency-related pressure on importers and small businesses eased partially, according to traders and bureau operators. Analysts noted that short-term fluctuations depend on market depth and central bank policies, and that the supply-demand balance will set the direction in coming sessions.
