Diyala salvages 3-3 draw against Golan with stoppage-time goal

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Diyala scored in the 90+3 minute to draw 3-3 with visiting Golan in the fourth week of the Iraqi Stars League at Diyala Stadium, where Golan had taken a 3-1 lead into halftime. Professional player Hamieh al-Tanji opened the scoring for Golan in the 2nd and 8th minutes, before Hamza Adnan converted a penalty in the 33rd minute to extend the lead. Diyala pulled one back in the 44th minute through Nasim Siyhud. In the second half, Diyala narrowed the gap in the 82nd minute when a shot deflected off Golan defender Mohammed Jasim Abboud and into the net. Salim Ahmed completed the comeback in stoppage time to secure the point for the hosts. The result lifted Golan to fifth place on five points, with Diyala sitting one place behind in seventh on the same tally.
