Diyala Police Deny Claims That a Security Tower Collapsed

Diyala Provincial Police Command has denied social media claims that a “security tower collapsed,” saying the incident was unrelated to any security structure and instead involved the collapse of an old, unused room. The statement said the structure was located behind the Dar Guesthouse building and its foundation had been affected by rising water levels in the Diyala River. Police said six people were inside at the time of the collapse. Two people were killed, two were injured and two others were unharmed. The injured were taken to hospital, and legal procedures have been launched in connection with the incident. Diyala police also urged the public to share news only after verifying it through official sources.
