CENTCOM says ninth night of strikes on Iran concluded; Tehran reports new missile launches

TEHRAN, Iran — U.S. Central Command said its ninth consecutive night of military operations against Iran ended Sunday at 10 p.m. Eastern Time. In a statement posted on X, the command said the strikes targeted Iranian military command centers, air defense and coastal surveillance sites, maritime capabilities, ballistic missile and drone launchers, and communications networks. CENTCOM said the operations were aimed at further degrading Iran's ability to attack commercial vessels and civilian shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran's official news agency IRNA separately reported that the country launched a new wave of missiles toward "enemy targets." Explosion sounds were reported in the early hours of Monday local time from various parts of Iran. No further details on casualties or damage were immediately available.
