Bomb attack on bus in northern rural Damascus wounds security personnel

DAMASCUS, Syria — A bomb attack targeted a night service bus belonging to Syrian internal security forces in the countryside north of Damascus, wounding security personnel, according to a Shafaq News correspondent in the Syrian capital. The correspondent said an explosive device planted on the vehicle detonated while it was traveling along the Ma'arrune–Tell road. The type of explosive used and the identity of the perpetrators had not been determined at the time of reporting, the correspondent added. Ma'arrune is a settlement located approximately 30 kilometers northwest of Damascus within the Tell district. No group or individual had claimed responsibility for the attack, the report said. Security forces launched an investigation at the scene following the blast. No further details were immediately available.
